  1. Hi there, can anyone recommend a good reliable and reasonably priced plumber to fit a new bath, sink and wet room panels on the walls? The prices I've had in so far are on the high end. Thank you!
  2. Hi Folks! I was wondering if anyone had or knew the of a garage available for rent? It would be for a very old car that won?t survive out on the street. Thank you! Julia
  3. Hi there, I wondered if anyone could recommend any local or online mindfulness courses. I?ve seen some online 8 week courses for almost ?300, which is a little bit unaffordable for me. Thanks
  4. We just had the same experience at 8:30pm on Forest Hill Road, just near the herne tavern. He said he was just out of prison. He wouldn?t take no for an answer and wouldn?t leave the doorstep so my partner shut the door. He opened the letterbox and yelled through ?you will Regret this?. The same experience happened to my neighbour 5mims Before. I saw him climb into a dark grey people mover. There was an altercation in the back of the car with another person and he is punched who was in the back before Getting in. It feels like it?s an organised racket. We reported it to the police. It looks like the photo and description of the guy who was in the area in December. It?s mad that he?s still in the area. I wonder if we can build More of a profile for the police from this thread?
  5. Heavy weight concrete construction lintel. Free to anyone who can pick it up from SE22 0RR. It is very heavy and will require two people to lift it into a vehicle. Please direct message me. Many thanks Julia
  6. Hi there, We have a basement floor that needs painting. There might be a tiny bit of prep required. Some bits of plaster here and there to be scraped off and swept up before the floor is painted. One coat only required. It?s a half day job for ?60. Someone with experience of painting and decorating is preferred. Please direct message me if you are available this week. Best wishes, Julia
  7. Hi there, Would like to give a big recommendation for Julian Mellor. He came to clear our gutters a couple of weeks ago and he did an amazing and thorough job. We had issues of damp coming down our walls. But have had no such issues since. His price for clearing gutters is the most competitive I have found, plus he cleaned all of our windows for free (an offer he does for all new customers from the EDF. A really nice guy too. You can get him on 07500 903965 Best, Julia
  8. Hi there, I'm opening a new sound art gallery project space in a shop on Forest Hill Road. I was wondering if i might correspond the opening of it with the artists open house. I wondered if anyone knew if this or any other artistic trails were happening in December that I could join in with. Best wishes, Julia
  9. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced electrician who might be available today/tomorrow? The light and fan in our bathroom have stopped working. They operate from the same pull switch. If you could PM me that would be fantastic. Many thanks for your help! Julia
  10. We are currently renovating a shop on Forest Hill Road and are interested in converting it to a gallery/therapy space. We wondered if any therapists would be interested in renting the space on a half or full day basis. The space would include an upstairs reception area and a downstairs therapy room including toilet. We would be looking to rent the space for 1 x half day per week at ?240 pcm 1 x full day per week at ?450 pcm (based on a 12hr day 7am-7pm) We would be open for negotiation on rental should the practitioner want to take the space for more than one day per week. We would also be open to renting the space in the evenings. We are very interested in the area of sound therapy. However the space is flexible and would suit all types of therapies including acupuncture, massage or counselling. Please direct message us if this sounds of interest to you. Best wishes, Julia and Dom
  11. Hi there, Our plumber seems to have disappeared in the middle of our job. We need a plumber to second fix and finish off. It?s a small job. Ideally it would be great to get it done this week. Please direct message me if you are interested. Many thanks, Julia
  12. We are looking for an all rounder to work alongside our builder. Jobs would include, finishing paintwork, clearing out and lifting materials when needed, attaching skirting, filling and sanding, possibly tiling (depending on your skill set). You'd need to be available for 3 to 4 days beginning week starting the 14th of May. We could do a trail day on the first day to see how things go. The builder has other work coming up so this could be an ongoing arrangement. Pay is ?110 per day. Please direct message me if you are interested. Many thanks, Julia
  13. We?ve recently had our lounge floor fitted by the Ply Guy. Really over the moon with the finish. Reasonably priced in comparison to other flooring we had been looking at. And way cheaper than solid wood flooring. You can reach Oliver (Ply Guy) on +44?7973?988281
  14. Hi there, We are looking for a good kitchen fitter to fit our Ikea kitchen. Ideally this fitter would be available week commencing the 20th of November. We'd be keen to see examples or pictures of previous work. We can provide the full Ikea kitchen plan layout in order for a quote. Many thanks, Julia
  15. We are having all of our windows replaced and two new patio doors fitted by a Sheffield company called Don Valley Windows and are entirely delighted with the service we have received. We had a lot of difficulty getting quotes in from companies operating in the area...and when we got the quotes in they were quite pricey and weren't able to fit in the job for many months. In desperation I spoke to my dad, a builder in Sheffield, who spoke to the company he uses up North. They had quotes back within a couple of days. The quote was markably cheaper than all others received. When we agreed the initial price, they came down and measured everything up. They are coming to fit them this weekend (only 3 weeks since they came to measure up!). Which means we can crack on with all other building work be back in our house by Christmas - hurrah!! The guys at Don Valley would be prepared to do the odd job in London. So worth contacting if you are having difficulty getting quotes in from local places. Details below. 16. Wanted to give a big thumbs up to Dulwich Garden Maintenance. They have just cleared 3 skip loads of heavy clay and concrete from our garden. Phil at DGM is a good guy to work with and puts together a competitive quote. The guys he has work with him are real grafters. So delighted with the work they have done for us as we had been let down by the service of two different companies ahead of Phil. He can be contacted on 07548 729778
  17. Thank you to all who have been in contact in regards to the job on Monday. Just to let you know I had someone come and quote on the job last night and I have agreed to their quote. So no longer looking for anyone. Many thanks,
  18. Hi there, I'm looking for a labourer to start on Monday. It will be two days work, maybe more and potentially more jobs in the future. It will be to remove clay and rubble from the garden into a skip. So quite heavy work. Please contact me if you are interested. Many thanks,
  19. Hi guys, I've not got around to posting a recommendation for Potager Grocer on Forest Hill Road since it opened. I was a little concerned at first that it might be pricy because it looks quite fancy-pants with the juice bar and whatnot. However, it's really reasonable. Great fresh produce and no packaging. They also do eggs dairy at reasonable prices, amazing bread and a nice selection of more special bits - fab ice cream and fancy sausages and bacon. A great local independent store doing a great job to support in the area. Julia x
  20. I wanted to recommend Bloomers Lingerie on Lordship Lane for any expectant mums here on the forum. I've always hated going to get new bras. I spend hours in a changing room and I can never seem to find anything that fits properly. So I was pretty much dreading having to get a maternity bra. My friend recommended Bloomers. I Just went in this afternoon, the lady there was able to see me for a fitting straight away. She was able to determine my exact size without faffing with a measuring tape and helped fit me with some different brands until I found two really comfortable maternity bras that actually look quite pretty! All done in about 15mins with no need to go into town. They also have a really beautiful range of standard underwear and good brands. I'm ditching M&S and John Lewis now and I'm Bloomers all the way!
