Hello all,

Just a quick query - had a lovely time at the Goose Green fayre on Sunday. That was a nice surprise to open my curtains in the morning and see it! Thanks to everyone involved.

Because I'm greedy, and because Mrs Myrmidon missed this years (again!) I was wondering if there were plans for any more? I seem to remember the last two years there being one in early July? Will this be happening, or was it moved forward to May this year?

Basically, I want another!

Cheers for any info

Myrmidon

Yes, the Goose Green School summer fair organised by the PTA will be held on Goose Green again this year on Saturday the 9th July! We will have a range of stalls - less stalls than the Dulwich Festival but still a nice range of food, crafts and other items. The students will be performing and there will be the usual attractions for the whole family. Just before the fair, the whole school will be marching along the streets in a carnival procession!

See you there!

    • Considering the private revision study that my children undertook, perhaps 15 to 20 years ago in that library it seems a shame they have timed the refurbishment so it won't be open at this crucial time for children. But hey, so long as it's greener...
    • Enforcement costs money which I doubt the fines actually pay for. Presumably it hasn't been a priority.

    • Per Cllr McAsh, as quoted above: “We are currently updating our Enforcement Policy and changes will allow for the issuing of civil penalties ranging from £175 to £300 for visible smoke emissions, replacing the previous reliance on criminal prosecution. " Is anyone au fait with the Clean Air Act 1993, and  particularly with the state of 'Smoke Control' law and practice generally?  I've just been looking  through some of it for the first time and, afaics, the civil penalties mentioned  were introduced into the Clean Air Act, at Schedule 1A, in May 2022.  So it seems that, in this particular,  it's a matter of the enforcement policy trailing well behind the legislation.  I'm not criticising that at all, but am curious.
