Hi All

Having been let down twice in the last few days by people arranging to come and see some items I am selling (this morning was particularly annoying as I had to get kids up and around early in preparation), can I suggest that we have a thread that warns others of these time wasters? Or am I being too harsh... thoughts?

Maybe just say who always comes through.Turns up when promised etc. I'm sure that's a better list.

also, add people who are actually businesses but pretend to be locals.

And people who won't post pictures

Why don't you take their mobile numbers in order to send your address? This will deter some people and at least you can call them if they don't turn up.

I always do it this way and have yet to have a no-show.

Soounds a good idea and has passed through my mind. It does however work both ways. twice have gone to collect to find item already gone.

I totally agree as this has happened to me numerous times. Name and shame may be the best option. It's especially annoying when someone claims to be interested you agree a time and all of a sudden you can never get hold of them and they don't get back to you.

Don't think your being harsh at all!

I have freecyled, bought and sold many items on here and have experienced a lot of no shows when people have promised to collect, which is irritating. I think all sales posts should have pictures too, otherwise you can't see what is on offer.

But surely they don't know if they want to buy until they have seen a picture?

Put a picture in your post :)
