Sue
Sorry to be dim.How do I move a PM into a new folder? Also, is it possible to save all my PMs off the forum elsewhere on my PC without having to copy and paste all the content?Because without reading each one it is impossible to know whether I might need to refer to it in the future, and that will take days probably :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17359-how-to-move-pms-into-new-folders-or-save-elsewhere-on-pc/ Share on other sites
Otta
First, create the folder, if you haven't already (on the PM screen, click on "edit folders" on the left hand side, and it's self explanatory from there). Then,go to inbox, tick the boxes next to the messages you want to move, scroll to the bottom, select the folder you want to move them to, from the drop down which will now be on the bottom right.Click "move". Sue
Thanks Otta, yes I've created some folders already. So is there any way to save this stuff off the forum other than opening each PM and copying and pasting separately? StraferJack
No Sue, no there isn'tjust like there isn't for the rest of us who use the forum.. and yet we manageAnd anyone who posts on here as often as you or me, can easily find the time in the day to prioritise as we goIf it's got a phone number/email/address in it, copy the details when you read itif it doesn't have any of those things what are the chances of you needing to refer to it again? And if there are other criteria, then apply that and save those messages too Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17359-how-to-move-pms-into-new-folders-or-save-elsewhere-on-pc/#findComment-437340 Share on other sites
mockney piers
Why not try using scripting language, such as python or perl, to do some screen scraping and save them off as files? Simples. Sue
Thanks for that Mockney, one look at the page and I thought maybe copying and pasting might be the better option after all :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17359-how-to-move-pms-into-new-folders-or-save-elsewhere-on-pc/#findComment-437456 Share on other sites
