Hello, we live a couple of minutes from Penge East station and have 2 children - 5 year old and 1 year old girls. I have had serious and recent surgery, was in hospital most of last week and left hospital today (Saturday). We have been coping with a mixture of family help and help from our housekeeper/nanny who works on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Next week we will require help on 13, 14 and 17 November and possibly some others days if wanted by the relevant person. We require very hands on help with the children, potentially school drop offs and collections (although we can use friends and family for this if necessary) for the 5 year old but lots of help with the one year old who is breastfeed as I am unable to really carry her for long periods or play with her etc. I will be at home the whole time attempting to recover. We would also ideally be looking for someone willing to help out around the house - light cooking and cleaning for adults and children (although most tasks will be child related) as well as typical nanny tasks. My husband is around but will need to return to work next week and is also recovering from the ordeal! We are always looking for ad hoc help and babysitting work so this could become a more long term arrangement if desired however initially we are just looking for help for next week. If this sounds of interest, please private message me. Thank you

    • Last week (27 Nov) I was told the only way to book was via ACCURX (sp) website.     I then proceeded to book via patient access (only 2 appts left). Left and right are telling different things Edit to add - can someone describe what happens once you have put a request via ACCURX.   does it wait until a Dr has reviewed your request and how (if at all) do you choose the date.

    • It’s literal.  There are levels of earners. Those who don’t work and get benefits, those who work and get benefits, those who work but don’t get benefits. now, it’s an assumption that the last group are all wealthy, but that’s not the case. People in this last group are most exposed.. private rent, higher tax brackets, cost of living increases, yet they pay the most tax, and get no help.    So many questions: why are workers needing to be subsidised? Should companies pay more? Should there be private rent caps?  Why are people better off not working at all, or only working low hours to ensure they get benefits top ups?  How do you think people respond to this?     Do you realise that a number of companies are focussing on buying property? The banks, the supermarkets! Yet the government is squeezing individuals out of this equation. What do you think this will look like in the future? When foreign companies own the majority of UK property?
    • All depends on what you call reasonably priced!  Was it for Christmas Day?   Noticed that The Plough were advertising Christmas Lunches but did not see any prices listed.
