Hi All,

To anyone out there who got offered a place for any of the schools on their wish list. Please spare a thought for us as we weren't offered anything at first and then Bessemer Grange which wasn't anywhere on our list.

For those of you who don't have your first choice, but do have second or third, you should count yourself lucky and take it!!!!!

We are utterly gutted and feel that we've been totally shafted by the system.

2 years ago I wasn't offered any places either but I did end up with a place at my first choice school two weeks into term.

I think every parent who has recently applied for a school place can and will be totally empathising with you and I'm sure many people do consider themselves lucky that they live near enough the school they like to get a place.

Yep its a nightmare, but what I am looking for is parents who have not been offered any school at all. My 4 year old has 2 siblings at our nearest school which is 300 yards away and yet he has not been offered a school any where in Southwark at all. He will have to stay home in September. Has anyone else had their application forms lost?

How is that possible??? - the whole thing seems like a mess. Am sure it will all be fine for you in the end as you will always come top on the lists due to siblings. Just don't understand how they can not give anything. We had that at first and then Bessemer Grange which isn't convenient for us atall. You must be just as stressed as we are about it all.

We have now found out that our daughter has dropped down the lists again as we appear to be in a complete 'dead zone'. Is annoying the hell out of me.

I also find it deeply unfair that people can apply late and get in above people who have been organised and got their applications in on time. What's the point in having a cut off date then? Confused...

4th is in with a shot. We started off as 7th on our first choice waiting list and the school told me that if you're in the top 5 you stand a very good chance of getting a place. We slowly crawled our way up and got a place! I know it seems hopeless now but there is a lot of movement between now and September.

Fingers crossed for you.

Get a set of dumbbells and maybe a resistance band, find a HIIT channel you like on youtube and workout in your room, eat clean and go out every day. £115/mo is ridiculous. I thought they were supposed to be about £20 to £30 and most people give up come February anyway.
    • Point taken..I go 3-4 times a week and have done every week for several years however £115 a month is still a lot of money for many people (myself included) for a 'non essential' One can if one wishes excersise by running or Cycling, swimming once in a while. Gym membership IS a luxury...
    • Tawny owls are hooting in Dawsons Heights very near me. But very elusive birds. Sadly now on the amber list.  I have heard the owls every night for the past couple of weeks  It is good to know they are here. They are quite loud so I think they are very near. I have never seen an owl in the wild before and wish I  could  see them.
