Dulwich / Local Pest Control

In my experience Peanut Butter (rough, not smooth) has been an enticing bait. Place traps where you expect mice to run - generally along walls. Or in store cupboards. If the mouse is quite small and with touches of brown it may be a wood mouse coming into the house by chance, if it is slightly larger and grey it will be a house mouse and almost certainly not alone.

We have a mouse and it is totally ignoring the 8 humane traps placed all around where it has been sited. It or they have been sited 5 or 6 Times. Very charming but it can?t stay. We have tried fruit, peanut butter, sweets, cornflakes. No luck. Any other tips before we have to resort to pest control?

    • Although this sounds worrying, a "bitey" fox is unusual. I see foxes all the time where I live near Rye Lane and have never experienced this. I've even seen a fox sitting in the garden where an outdoor cat lives, whilst the cat was there - the cat was fine and is still alive. I think my flat is on a fox path because I hear and see them most nights, none of the local cats seem bothered by them. I can't help but wonder what would make the fox act in such a way, I've just read that toxoplasmosis might make them more aggressive
    • Purse with cash and cards (including photo card) found in road local to East Dulwich Tabernacle. It will be here (107 Barry Road) all day (Sunday 21 December) if you want to collect or PM me.  In case some one else who knows R Howard, please alert her.    Thank you
    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
