Lost Dog has been Found: Jasper

Hi,

We've just lost our dog in Crystal Palace park on Saturday (9th December). We've been searching all afternoon and can't find him and I'm desperately hoping someone local has found him.

Pictures attached and will give a reward to anyone who can get me to him.

He's only a 9 month old puppy and a rescue so he is really nervous around people and loud noises.

Answers to Jasper and loves treats.

He has a leather style collar with retractable leash. He has been chipped.

Please please share this picture. If anyone has seen him please call 07538131825.

Hoping you have found Jasper by now.

I put up a post about 'a dog on the loose' last wednesday 6th Dec. It couldn't have been him as you lost him on Saturday. It's just that the dog I saw in Nigel Road (near the bottom of Peckham Rye) had the same wiry whiskers and mottling and was very frightened. Couldn't keep up with him, so don't know the outcome.

Keep positive. A friend of mine lost a dog in Dulwich Park which made it's way to Peckham Rye Park, so it might be worth searching other places that you usually go.

Hope all will be well. Let us know.

Hey everyone,

Update as of Monday evening:

===

There have so far been 4 sightings:

* Saturday - 1.30pm Crystal Palace Park Road (heading North)

* Saturday - 1.45pm Crystal Palace Park Parade ( Heading west)

* Sunday - 2.30pm South Norwood hill, at the junction with Whitehorse Lane (Heading towards the lakes)

* Today - ~1.30pm Crystal Palace Park at top (heading towards the wooded area at the north of the park)

We're starting to get a clearer picture of his movements and he doesn't seem to have strayed more than a mile away from our house. We're fairly certain he has a hiding sport somewhere between CP Park and South Norwood lakes.

We are so incredbly greatful to everyone that has been helping so far - it's honestly so amazing. So thank you all.

Our best course of action is to keep sharing, the more people that see this post the more information we get and the clearer idea of where he is.

All the local vets and wardens have our details and we're trying to keep positive that he will turn up somewhere eventually.

Unfortunately we have to go back to work tomorrow so we're now only able to look for him in the mornings and evenings, until the weekend - every possible pair of eyes out there looking for him is going to be a huge help in getting him home.

This may sound a bit odd but we lost our cat a few years and put one of our worn t-shirts outside the front door and he came back after 3-4 days.

Am wondering if you put something that belongs to you with your smell on it in the park that Jasper might be attracted and home in on it.

Just a thought.

So very happy that Jasper is back home especially after all the snow and such a perishing cold night. He looks exhausted after his ordeal and obviously relieved to be back safe with you.

Would love to know where he was eventually found.

What a wonderful outcome.

    • Earl, I think the 20% increase you refer to is cycling stages rather than trips and is explained in the TFL report here (which is fascinating when you look at the detail...and there is a lot of detail):   The relatively higher growth in stages compared to trips suggests that the increase in cycling as part of multi-modal trips (for example, to access public transport or combined with other modes) has increased more than cycling for cycle-all-the-way trips.   When looking at cycling trips the growth is more aligned to that of the national picture (a small % increase since pre-pandemic) and the report explains:   Cycling made up 4.5 per cent of trips in London on an average day in 2022, up from 3.6 per cent in 2019.   I wonder how food delivery cyclists are captured and also given the majority of hire bike journeys are less than one mile is that a stage or a trip?   Another interesting chart is the analysis of cycling trips - I was surprised by the drops in many of these.
    • I have just received a PCN today for driving into Elsie rd! I was confused as to why I had received this and rang Southwark parking to to enquire, apparently this road is closed at certain times of the day and only those with a permit are allowed to drive here. I’ve lived in East Dulwich for 35 yrs in Glengarry Rd, and had no idea of this enforcement, I was told that I should have read the sign before driving into the road, I mean who stops on a main road to read any signs before turning into a road?! Especially a road that you’ve driven down for 35 years with no problem! my reason for driving down this road was to drop something off to the charity shop on the corner, as there’s no longer any access to this road since they closed off all the side roads 🤬 Im fuming and I’m sick to death of being penalised for driving down roads that were once accessible, it’s like driving through a mine field and nigh on impossible to navigate signs in time before you actually turn into a road, we are being bled dry !    I would rather give the £65 penalty fee to the charity shop than these thieves at Southwark 🤬
