Dead cat (Ginger and white) found today Forest Hill Road near St Aidan's Road junction

Recommended Posts

This morning (19/12/17) at about 8am I found a dead ginger and white cat in the gutter on Forest Hill Road opposite the junction with St Aidan's Road. I moved it from the gutter to the side of the pavement so that it won't be squashed by a vehicle. It is on to a patch of bare soil beside the wheelie bins for the nursery that is there. It's quite obvious.

I feel very sad and hope that the owner will see this post and be able to collect their cat to say good byes. Please share this / spread the word. The cat had a bloody injury to its face and had obviously been hit by a car, but other than that, it looked normal and the owner shouldn't be worried about turning up to a too grotesque scene.

I have just heard from a friend who passed the spot an hour later that the cat has been moved. Not sure who by. If it wasn't the owner, and they see this, it might be worth asking in the nursery whether they know anything about moving it - maybe they saw it when they put something in the bins?

Hello,

This is our cat Jake. I wanted to say thank you so much for being so kind and respectful of Jake, and for posting on here. I'd been looking for him today. We've told our sons about Jake and that a very kind person took care of him and was respectful of him. It's very comforting to know that you took the time to do this.

Thank you, Anna

    • Any cyclist using Nairne Grove should have noticed the dangerous school streets bollard which was missing its metal cover, leaving it extremely dangerous to cyclists due to its ridiculous location on the corner. I'm amazed it hadn't been dealt with before but I reported it to the Council and within a few days it was sorted. As someone who broke a bone in a fall onto tarmac not long ago, I hope no one was injured in the meantime.  In future anyone can easily report dangerous road defects using:  https://www.fillthathole.org.uk/
