I hope this is OK to post: a friend of mine, Alistair St.John, has written a word for word modern "translation" of this book to help GCSE students who are struggling with the language. He sent me a copy for Christmas (cheapskate!) and it is a very good piece of work which I'm sure would be a great help to many.   Do you mean The Dream Machine? Used to sell vinyl and musicians used to go there and play? Don't know about the hifi repair! If that's what you are thinking of, I can put you in touch with the guy who used to run it if you PM me.
