Is there any local supermarket (or other) which recycles other shops' plastic bags?

I use my own bags for shopping but I get delivered shopping in bags.

I normally reuse them for various things eg as bin bags, but I've accumulated a huge amount over the last few weeks and I'd like to recycle them somewhere.

Another vote for charity shops ,they often run out .

Sainsburys at Dog Kennel Hill have plastic bag recycling inside the shop by the double doors near the cash machines .

Is the Sainsbury's recycling just for their own bags? I rarely shop there any more.

Morrisons used to have a bin you could stick an unused bag into. I suspect one at Sainsbury's is the same. They're usually overflowing!

The Saintsbury's ones are for any plastic bags that can be recycled.

Because I use the bags for bin bags and for other things, plus it's a lot easier to carry it to my kitchen without having to unpack and return a load of crates!

I won't be having another delivery for months.

I was taking advantage of special offers.

I give my extra delivery bags to Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (www.sdcas.org.uk) at the Copleston Centre. They use them for food [parcels for clients and don't get nearly enough since the charges came in.
