February Hypnobirthing Classes in West Dulwich

Recommended Posts

Hello pregnant Mums and Partners, happy New Year!

I'm a local Mum and an NHS GP and am passionate about holistic healthcare and wellbeing. I run The Mindful Rooms, offering a range of classes aimed at making time for busy Londoners to recharge. I am especially interested in pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester period and one of the classes I run is a Hypnobirthing antenatal course. This is a uniquely designed course providing a complete antenatal education and drawing on themes of mindfulness and positive psychology.

I have a few spaces left on my hypnobirthing antenatal course starting on 2nd February 2018, at the lovely Rosendale Allotment Community Building in West Duwich. The course runs over four weeks, 7 til 9.15pm. The cost of the course is ?315 and this includes all materials, handbook, relaxation hypnobirthing tracks, excellent refreshments, an amazing goody bag, on going email support right up to the birth of your baby, as well as a reunion session once all the little ones have arrived.

I would love you to join us! Please do get in touch if you have any questions or would like any further info. Please note this is a course for first time parents, I do also offer refresher courses as well as private courses.

Here is a little more about me and hypnobirthing..

I used hypnobirthing in both my pregnancies I was amazed over by the results, I had two really wonderful births and this spurred me on to train as a KG hypnobirthing antenatal teacher. Yes, it has a wacky name but hypnobirthing is actually a very sound birth preparation course, covering everything you could possibly want to know on the subject of birth and beyond, as an NHS doctor I am passionate about evidence based medicine. This is a complete antenatal education- in other words the science, physiology and anatomy of birth, all the practical factual information about writing a birth plan, signs of labour starting, pain relief options, c/sections, the 3rd stage, pelvic floor exercises etc etc AS WELL as the 'hypno' part of hypnobirthing which includes deep relaxation and breathing techniques, guided meditations and visualisations, building confience and releasing fear in order to enhance your pregnancy and prepare you for a wonderful, empowering birth. Be that a water birth surrounded by candles or a c-section in theatre..hypnobirthing is non judgemental and is there to give you the tools to prepare you and your birth partner for a positive birth..and is guaranteed to get you SO excited about meeting your baby!

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
    • Signed, and I will share it elsewhere, thank you for posting this. It's got nearly 70,000 signatures at present, and apparently runs till February.
