Don't be so ridiculous.

I've never had the slightest problem understanding any of the staff in the Co-op, and it seems like you're just being - well, let's say unpleasant.

I mentioned in an earlier post Milk being 55p whist it is 48p in most of the other major Supermarkets.

The Co-op in Downham near Bromley charges 48p for Milk, so it seems prices are higher in East Dulwich.

There is Nothing special about East Dulwich. that justifies a 14.6% hike in price.

It's now possible to buy skimmed organic milk after 7pm in the L Lane Co-op.

And the staff are as lovely and helpful as ever.

The staff in the Brockley one are extra special helpful, have seen them run after a fraught mother who'd left a bag of shopping and also stay open after hours to help an older gent who needed to top up his electricity key meter.

And should anyone be looking for a job:

Refit and Tactical Marketing Recruiter Co-operative Food Location Manchester, Lancashire Salary ?34,182 - ?40,217 per annum Sector Retail - Other Retail Date 30 Jun Applications 14 Job ref no 20337616

Never a company to miss an opportunistic bandwagon, like those other paragons of virtue and decency at Ford, Mitsubishi, Vauxhall and Lloyds Bank. Makes me want to go and buy their permanently-limp broccoli just to be public spirited.

No, don't do it, maxxi. After all, there is enough limp broccoli in East Dulwich without releasing more into the wild. And anyway, you'd then have to bank at Lloyds and drive a Ford Bandwagon to show your allegiance to those other highly ethical companies...

If Ford do the Bandwagon in Smugbastard Magenta I could be tempted...

    • Hi Sue, they were not local solicitors. Andrea’s was based in Wales and the other firms involved were large nationwide conveyancing companies (rather than conventional high street solicitors). I’m happy to advise clients and buyers privately on what I believe to be their shortcomings but I don’t think doing so in public on the forum would be appropriate, particularly as they are not locally based. My general advice would always be to steer clear of the big conveyancing companies as they are, in my experience, notoriously difficult to contact when the need arises and the case handler is often not a fully qualified solicitor and so issues have to be referred upwards to “technical teams” internally, which was part of the problem in Andrea’s chain. • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
