Hi all-- my NCT group is thinking of doing a joint first birthday party for all our babies and I was hoping to get some recommendations regarding venues.

I've already contacted 57 North Cross Road, Gymboree and the Lordship as I know people have had parties there but if there are any other good venues please let me know!

There will be about 14 adults and 7 babies!

Jam Circus in Brockley let you hire their back room and provide some soft play items - we did this for a similar number of people/babies for a joint 2nd.

For our NCT joint 1st birthday we went to Zedel Brasserie in town which was brilliant - lovely food, very child friendly and a big atrium to tag team letting the babies crawl about once they'd had enough food/sitting still. They let us take a sugar free cake in for the babies too. Easy to get to on the 176.

    • Sue, One of the hairdressers who called me had spent a fair amount of time getting all his clients’ details from the database before he gave his notice and left.  He wouldn’t have been able to do it afterwards.
    • That hasn't been my experience, but admittedly it was a long time ago. For example, I had an excellent cutter at one of the central London Charles Worthington salons, I think it was in Covent Garden. I would be highly surprised if anyone who worked there was allowed to keep their own book of clients' details, because the salon itself  obviously wants to keep their clients. I can't remember the exact details, but if memory serves she left, and when I asked where she had gone  I was told she had "gone travelling", which may or may not have been true (I am not someone who keeps up a constant conversation with whoever is cutting my hair, which may be a surprise to those who know me 😂). The next person I had there made an absolute dog's breakfast of my cut, to such an extent that I had to have several (free) cuts from somebody else at that salon to bring it back to some semblance of what it was supposed to look like.
