Water fountain - new wave

Are there any working fountains in SE22/21/15? If not working, are there ones that have fallen into disrepair. Once I know I can see about trying to get them working again or having new ones installed. Bin the (plastic) bottle!

There is/was one in Dulwich Park near the kids' playground - don't know if it's still working. I'd love to know if there's one in Peckham Rye as I don't like carrying bottles around when I go for a run but sometimes just fancy a quick drink of water midway through. I've never noticed one on my usual route but haven't properly investigated - anyone know?

Not convinced there's so much of a need for one in the centre of ED. I can't think I've ever got so thirsty on a local shopping trip that I'm forced to buy bottled water. But in general it would be a great thing if there were more of them in the city centre and in parks. Really positive to see that this is being picked up as an issue at last (can't believe it's taken so long).

You should NOT refill plastic water bottles. It says this very clearly on the label.

'Do NOT reuse bottle or cap'

As the Bottle ages and gets squeezed it cracks inside and chemicals can leach into the contents.

Also washing the bottle can make this problem worse and there is a serious risk of contamination from bacteria.

The proposed water refill scheme is seriously flawed.

It is, DulwichFox, luckily, possible to refill a bottle that is not a single use bottle. Phew. Contamination avoided.

No it's not, the idea is that we all invest in a refillable sports bottle (from about a quid) and use that, nobody's suggesting continually refilling single use bottles. It's a splendid idea which if (and given funding cuts etc I have a feeling it might be a big if) properly funded could make a real difference to London's pollution footprint.

I have carried my own (multi-use) bottle with me for years and never once been refused a refill in any cafe, pub, restaurant etc, But I've rarely had reason to ask in places that I wasn't a customer (and when I did I think they were so surprised they didn't think to say No). I think the idea of the free refills is for anyone to walk in off the street without buying anything else, and although water may be running out of the tap it isn't free, so I can understand why there needs to be some incentive. And I guess most places make a lot of money out of selling bottled water.
