Hi Miss Collin

We are looking (ridiculous as it sounds) for a KS1 tutor for our son. He is doing OK in Year 1, he's completed 'Dancing Bears' and can read the yellow level books he brings home with no difficulties. But every school open morning I am struck with how lost he appears to be in class and how much he struggles with the tasks. There are a few other kids who appear to be at the same level as our son, but who are less stressed and upset by it. I think we'd like to see if he was given even more help his confidence levels would rise and he'd be more inclined to participate in the classroom. Just to be clear - we feel at home he is coming along fine, its only when we see the strain of lessons at school that we get worried.

So ideally wed like someone who could make it fun and empowering and unpressured!

Many thanks

I am a teacher living in Forest Hill and am currently teaching in year 3 but have had experience in years 1, 2 and 6.

I would be free to tutor after school most days and can support with maths, literacy, phonics and reading as well as build in some confidence boosting activities into each session to support your child.

I charge ?35ph, please email if you are interested.

Thank you

    • ...and so, 4 years on from the "dramatic planning meeting" that approved the "meganursery", how has it all worked out in reality? The building looks nice from the outside - but I don't know anything more. Did either of the nursery businesses on EDG fail because there was no demand for nursery places in East Dulwich? Did Carmageddon on East Dulwich Grove get worse? Were pre-COVID work patterns abandoned forever (lol)? Were some of the concerns expressed in opposition to the planning application a teensy bit overblown...? https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/southwark/mega-nursery-approved-amid-dramatic-planning-meeting/
