Where do I dispose of unwanted paint cans?

Hi

I have some old paint left when I moved into my house I'd like to get rid of. Pretty sure I'm not allowed to put in normal trash because of environmental hazard etc (although I have heard if I leave the paint to dry out I may be able to?).

Where is the nearest refuse site I can take this stuff to?

Go to the Vale Street dump in West Dulwich - end of Rosendale Road (and pretend you're from lambeth). They have a special box for old paint.

They only use the special paint disposal for cans which are over half full. Other cans end up in the landfill with the rest of the rubbish.

Why don?t you pop down to mine and put them in the skip outside my house, everyone else treats it as a municipal resource!

Perhaps someone would like to recycle them via their walls? What types and colours are they?

I'm afraid the paint is fairly knackered. Tins are rusting and bits of rust in the paint etc.
