As I said it hit Alleyn's' building, near the wellness centre. Turns out their IT systems and leccy gates aren't working atm. Perhaps they will now buy a (very expensive) lightning conductor. In the recent past I have actually stood at a warehouse door watching the heavy rain pouring down when the lightning struck the fire escape above me. THAT was close but not as loud as yestarday. You kmow you are near when you hear the electricity hit, then the thunder a few milliseconds later. In fact, now I remember we were on holiday out in the open when we noticed our hair was standing up. We took shelter just as the lightnng started. Electrifying - but thankfully not in a bad way.

... at Alleyn's School about 10 mins ago - about 50 feet from where I was standing! Anyone else having subsequent Internet issues? All seems OK now. Don't get zapped, people. 🙂

Sat afternoon Lordship Lane.. Police incident.
mlteenie replied to I hammer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I was passing the end of Melbourne going towards the hospital on my bike when the guy raced past me going towards LL, overtaking cars. Then the unmarked cops passed a couple of secs later. I didn't think he would make it too far at that speed and time of day. Now I know a bit more, I'm glad the situation wasn't worse. Society is in a real sad state these days. -

Noise Nuisance - Hillsboro Road
mlteenie replied to tradingfiddle's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Last night was noisy but that was a birthday party, though a relaxed approach to consideration of neighbours.... the normal pumpy pumpy sound is a youth with a blaster in one of the garages which adds amplification of low end, unfortunately. Prob is not aware of its overall irritation. -

Moped on trossachs /tarbert /glengarry
mlteenie replied to DadOf4's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Highly irritating noise let alone any dangerous riding. I believe it is usually parked in the front area of a house at the end of Tarbert for reg plate. -
There was a chinook flying around over Green Dale way yesterday. Twas rather annoying and I just heard another. Is there something we should know? I know they seem to fly in and out of Woolwich but this was something different. Ta.

I am an experienced guitarist i. My 50s but have always wanted to learn some keyboard technique and voicing tips, particularly in the rock/jazz/pop/funk areas, but that is only my preferred taste. Anyone fancy doing a deal? Realistically I would imagine one session a month for about an hour would be best for me in order to practice. PM me for details. Thanks!

Posting here as well as in wanted section... I am a decades-long cyclist, musician and now of course, mobile-phone user. My posture is increasingly knackered and having looked up a few articles I'm looking for someone to diagnose and assist in fighting back. Does anyone have a recommendation with an idea of cost? Preferably avoiding riding up to the Crystal Palace sports physio... Thank you.

My neighbour was burgled at around 2am last night- unfortunately his outer door hadn't been locked. Items stolen from porch after he had sniffed around the other houses. I hope no one else has the same tale. Be vigilant.
