Why London Transport Does.nt Fit Bus Shelter to Upland Road Bus Stop On Barry Road Its Difficult Waiting in rain for school kids or anyone going work.

Have you seen how narrow the pavements are on Barry Road? I think its dangerous enough as it is, without adding bus shelters, along with bins and trees etc

The bus stop referred to has a buildout into the road so it would be perfectly possible to have a shelter without changing the width of the available pavement, as has been done with its identical (in terms of buildout) counterpart on the opposite side.

Bus shelters are poorly designed anyway! Seats are wet, none windproof! A very good example of one on a narrow pavement exist on camberwell new road. Do they really care?

So if you want a bus shelter on your local stop you just need to ask a councillor? Shouldn't they be allocated according to passenger numbers?

Or just put up with a bit of rain etc. if you have to wait for a bus?

Never had shelters or planners years ago.

Bus shelter?? You were lucky! When I was t?lad council paid people to spray folks waiting for buses with high-powered fire hoses ? and there were no bl**dy buses anyway?!

I can't guarantee a shelter will be installed but I do know a few routes to request this and have requested so. Fingers crossed.

Currently I think it the only bus stop on Barry Rod without a bus shelter.
