Just a quick recommendation for the Stay + Play session at the Albrighton Centre!

I'm a 'nervous mum', find it difficult to talk to other mums at groups etc, and this has been the friendliest group I've been to. All the parents seem great. Lovely, lovely women running it, some nice toys and a singalong at the end! The children are brilliant too, and there is plenty of space. Wish I'd found it sooner!

Albrighton centre is on Dog Kennel Hill, opposite Sainsburys and the S+P is Mondays, 1.30pm - 3pm. It is from 0 - 18 months and they're quite strict on the upper age limit from what I've seen.

Yes still on, not entirely sure of the start date for this term, hoping it is Monday as have missed it and will be popping along then. I totally agree this is the friendliest group we have been too, been going since last December and my daughter loves it. They now have lots of lovely new equipment and is like a small soft play area.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
