He did my loft and refurbished my house last year and as soon as we can afford it we will again utilise his services for a ground floor extension. He only takes on one project of this size at a time and is a really honest and decent fellow. You?ll get a personal touch from him that you won?t get from some of the larger companies.

We have just had an absolutely superb experience with Sky High Builders, who have built our stunning new loft bedroom and ensuite.

Marvin project managed the build for us and nothing was too much trouble for him. He managed everything brilliantly from start to finish. His level of customer service is second to none and he genuinely cares about doing an impeccable job. If Marvin wasn't among the team working on site that day, he made sure he was there every morning to inform about the progress of the build. Marvin's motto is "the client's always right" and he will do all he can to ensure his clients are happy with the job. He had some brilliant ideas for the design of our loft, and as a result we have a stunning and unique new space.

In terms of the quality of the build, the team at Sky High have very high standards, which was just what we were after as I confess to being a bit of a perfectionist. All the team take great pride in doing a good job and they are all a delight to have around on site.

Every step of the way my husband and I felt so thankful we'd taken on Sky High for the job. They really care about what they do and they really want to go above and beyond expectations.

We have the most beautiful bedroom and ensuite and it's all thanks to Sky High's high standards of workmanship and Marvin's great design ideas. We really can't praise Marvin and his team high enough. This is the third building job we've done on our house and Sky High are leagues ahead of the other companies we used. They are incredibly professional.

We are happy to give a reference over the phone - please PM me for details.

I can also recommend Marvin and his team at Sky High Builders. Marvin designed and built my loft conversion last year and I was very impressed. Marvin was very responsive and really goes the extra mile to make sure that the build is up to his standards. His team are highly skilled and very polite.

I have recommended Marvin to a lot of my friends and they have also been impressed. I have also asked Marvin to start work on more renovations starting soon.

Hey Peachy, we?ve used Plaster Fever for our kitchen extension and loft conversion. Lu the director was amazing, they finished on time and within budget. We are so happy with and cannot praise them enough. Her Number is 07825757044 or www.plasterfever.com

    • Having enjoyed a day with Sayce HolmesLewis, I understand what you’re saying.  I appreciate your courage responding on here.
    • Thank you to everyone who has already shared their thoughts on this. Dawson Heights Estate in the 1980s, while not as infamous as some other estates, did have its share of anti-social behaviour and petty crime. My brother often used the estate as a shortcut when coming home from his girlfriend’s house, despite my parents warning him many times to avoid it. Policing during that era had a distinctly “tough on crime” approach. Teenagers, particularly those from working-class areas or minority communities, were routinely stopped, questioned, and in some cases, physically handled for minor infractions like loitering, skateboarding, or underage drinking. Respect for authority wasn’t just expected—it was demanded. Talking back to a police officer could escalate a situation very quickly, often with harsh consequences. This was a very different time. There were no body cameras, dash cams, or social media to hold anyone accountable or to provide a record of encounters. Policing was far more physical and immediate, with few technological safeguards to check officer behaviour. My brother wasn’t known to the police. He held a full-time job at the Army and Navy store in Lewisham and had recently been accepted into the army. Yet, on that night, he ran—not because he was guilty of anything—but because he knew exactly what would happen if he were caught on an estate late at night with a group of other boys. He was scared, and rightfully so.
    • I'm sure many people would look to see if someone needed help, and if so would do something about it, and at least phone the police if necessary if they didn't feel confident helping directly. At least I hope so. I'm sorry you don't feel safe, but surely ED isn't any less safe than most places. It's hardly a hotbed of crime, it's just that people don't post on here if nothing has happened! And before that, there were no highwaymen,  or any murders at all .... In what way exactly have we become "a soft apologetic society", whatever that means?
