I lived in East Dulwich a couple of years ago, and was a massive follower of The East Dulwich Forum... when i moved back to Sydney, i was pretty surprised that nothing similar existed for sydney's northern beaches. So, a baby and a bump later, I have now decided to launch one for myself (they say imitation is the highest form of flattery!). It is definitely not a carbon copy of ED Forum, just "inspired by"...

Anyway, it's only been going less than 2 weeks now so is very early days, but i just thought i'd let you know about it in case there are any northern beaches people in East Dulwich who might be interested in seeing what's going on back home!

So check it out, and let me know your thoughts (don't worry, you can be critical!)

Well, colourbond fencing (and, not to forget, colourbond garage rollerdoors) are as Aussie as a gum tree, so I'll grant you that one.

And leather sofas in Aussie heat is a bad idea. It did takes us a while to work that one out. I fell asleep on a leather sofa once - nearly drowned in my own sweat.

Ha, should have known i'd open myself up to a host of aussie jokes! Yeah, i might introduce a new section in honour of the lounge... but maybe call it "the billabong", as we all like sitting round billabongs in our budgie smuglers with a stubbie, and having a yarn about bush tucker.

Michael - we do have 'curry houses', though they are called 'indian restaurants' here... and my english hubby tells me the food is no where near as good as good olde english curry houses.

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
