Hi EDF,

I'm looking for some advice. We've got bi-folds doors, but surprisingly the sun is a bit much in the day in this country!

What have others done? Retractable awning outside? Seems expensive. Is it worth it?

Blinds inside?

Let me know what you think!and any recommendations. Thanks Nikki

We looked at awnings but it was very expensive and so as an interim measure we bought some ?Blinds in a Box? from Amazon as our garden is west facing and the sun is particularly bad at kid?s teatime in the summer. The blinds have been great! I think it was about ?20 for 4 blinds and they clip up at the top when not in use. We?ve had them for nearly 3 years now...
We have Perfect Fit type blinds from the London Blind Company in a light white material on each bi-fold which open "bottom up" so you can set them halfway up the doors to block out the sun. Expensive but brilliant - we've had ours for over 10 years.

    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
    • Hello, Does this lovely little panther have a name? & Is he neutered & microchipped?
    • Well I don’t approve for a shop doing the same food to open so near - just wrong in my opinion. Why not go to the village, Peckham - foot fall would be great in Peckham and certainly more multi  cultural than ED. Village has money but doubt foot fall would be as good as ED.  At least they could have gone to the stretch leading up to Peckham Rye or why not bottom of Barry Road?? Or even North Cross Road I for one, on principal won’t be going in.
    • Heh yeah haven't even bothered to remove the emdash. The OP is AI slop as well.
