I don't know if I'm missing something here but if I found a wallet near a police station I think I'd hand it in to the police station (unless the station wasn't open of course). I certainly wouldn't want someone else's wallet full of cards in my possession, it might put you in a very uncompromising position. Imagine if one of the cards had been cloned and was used fraudulently while you had the wallet... or maybe I'm just overly paranoid!
It really isn't strange. They are just being helpful. I've dropped my wallet before and some kind gentleman managed to contact me via info in my wallet. I was very grateful. I wouldn't waste police time if I found a wallet. I'd do exactly what sazzel did and try to contact the person and if no luck take it to the bank. There could be many reasons why she hasn't got back to you. Be patient.
Now I'm confused. Gerry's grumpy post has been edited with the words 'mystery solved' replacing what was previously there. Unless I'm imagining things there was a post after that admonishing him. Where's that gone? How was the mystery solved? We need answers.

    • The builders guarantee system is quite fraught. I had a 10 year guarantee for correction of rising damp; within 18 months. The symptoms returned and I was told by the tradesman who returned on an inspection visit that the symptoms this time were not caused by rising damp they were caused by condensation and so the guarantee did not apply.  Without a court battle which would’ve cost thousands there was nothing I could do.

    • Hi all, I’m looking for a local photographer for one hour on Sunday 21st at 6pm in East Dulwich. We’re doing a food prep session and I’d love some natural, professional shots of: • Food being plated • Prep in action • A few team shots • Some finished dish photos We’re a small independent food business and don’t have a big budget for this one, but happy to agree a fair hourly rate and credit/tag you on all content. If anyone local is building their portfolio or fancies a quick paid shoot, please DM me with your rates and examples of your work.
