little h
hi I know there have been several threads about swimming lessons but my question is slightly different. My 2.5 yr old ha only been swimming twice, when very young. We want to take him swimming and get him used to the water, then hopefully get some lessons later - if we can ever manage to get into any, they're always booked up with hellish queues. Which pools are good for a splash about woth out having to book? Ideally somewhere warm with a shallow bit he can stand in, or with a slope or steps to access easily. Also what would be good to take...arm bands? Float? When I was little we just used to turn up at our local pool for a swim... all seems so organised and busy here...thanksH Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18477-another-swimming-pool-question/ Share on other sites
Fuschia
The bridge by sainsburys SydenhamEasy parking, not busy, shallow pool with big step, lots of toysI prefer a little jackets rather than armBands As pool is shallow you don't really need either Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18477-another-swimming-pool-question/#findComment-455554 Share on other sites

hazelnunhead
This might be a bit far for you but the pool in Deptford is very warm and has a large area that is shallow and where toddlers can walk. I think this area is available at all times. However on weekends and during the holidays you might need to find out what time a session starts at. when I take my duaghter swimming, during school time the pool has about 3 - 5 people floating in various parts. (I have found myself there during a holiday week and it was hellish!)
