Can anyone suggest games for a bunch of 3-year-olds that can be played in a garden/park? Something that will involve about ten of them, both boys and girls, possibly with prizes/a prize but not necessarily. Need ideas asap. Thanks!

and indoors: apart from 'pass the parcel', what else can you suggest for a birthday party? thanks!

It's a song. One of the children is 'the farmer', all the others go round in a circle singing

The farmer's in his den,

The farmer's in his den,

E I, E I the farmer's in his den.

The farmer wants a wife,

The farmer wants a wife,

E I E I the farmer wants a wife

The child 'farmer' picks another child from the ring to be the 'wife'

Then continue singing

The wife wants a child,

the wife wants a child

E I E I the wife wants a child.

Wife picks child

The child wants a dog etc

CHild picks dog

The dog wants a bone etc

Dog picks bone

we all pat the dog etc

everybody pats the dog.

Very simple, and I don't really understand the attraction, but my 4 and 6 year old still like it.

I can see it's not easy if you don't know the tune, but probably any other adult attendee would!

Hope that makes sense.

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
