Hi AlL,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a baby sleep specialist? Looking for a recommendation of someone who has been successful in helping your little one (and you!) sleep through the night and take naps longer than 40mins! Really grateful for anyone who might have made a difference in your lives.

Thank you!

Hi,

I highly recommend Nicola at child sleep solutions. We?ve used her for various sleep problems now (for different children!). We did it all over Skype, although she offers various packages I think. She gets loads of good recommendations on here too.

Good luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions :)

Hello - we?ve used two sleep consultants. The first we used - Linda Elderkin, if you google her her website comes up - was effective with our first born but relied largely on a cry it out approach which we found hard going. However she was extremely responsive and available to us during the two weeks we worked with her. However we weren?t willing to use this approach when our secondlittle one had sleep issues during teething, which meant she couldn?t really help us in this situation. I then used Helen Broadhead from Infant Sleep Solutions to help our baby get back into good habits after a prolonged bout of bad teething. She seemed extremely experienced, she explained the range of approaches to improve sleep and then we chose a pragmatic solution that I felt comfortable with. As well as a schedule for day time and night time she gave us great advice on how to respond when he is crying and how to deal with ups and downs in the process of getting him to sleep better. After 2 weeks we had gone from waking 3-5 times a night and shushing our baby to sleep to him settling well and sleeping through the night most nights. After a month the new routine had really clicked and he was settling beautifully and happily to sleep by himself and sleeping through every night. Good luck!

    • If you want to change a radiator and it is the same size, pretty straight forward.  isolate by turning the two valves, one is straight forward hand twist, the other side you need to take the cap off and get an adjustable spanner and turn till closed.  Both clockwise. Use the same spanner to undo the large nuts that fix the radiator to the pipework, open the bleed valve, get a flatish container to catch the water which is likely to be a grotty black, sheets/plastic underneath to protect floor/floor covering.  Then jiggle off, tipping as quick as you an into your water container. Fingers crossed it will be the same back plate fitting.  If not you will have to take the old one off and fix the new one. Replacement is a reverse, allowing the rad to refill and let the air out. No naked flames involved. If it is a different size I can advise on that too. Lots on line too: https://www.toolstation.com/help-and-advice/how-to-guides/how-to-remove-radiator?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19747119835&gclid=CjwKCAiAkvDMBhBMEiwAnUA9BR26YwBA6kOfcR4-JVxfJEjWdhRk6j0imCNcsIfu064wHN54-cs10xoCZ4cQAvD_BwE Although this is for a pressurised (combi) system where you need to get it back to pressure.  Pretty simple.  I don't bother with jointing compound.
    • Fair enough - I'm absolutely wrong on that one. 👍
    • I'm still completely unclear what happened, apart from that a car apparently crashed into a lamp post opposite the Co-op. I presume the one in Lordship Lane, though the OP doesn't say. Was it speeding? Did it swerve to avoid someone who ran into the road? Did something go wrong with its brakes or steering? Did the driver have a medical emergency or fall asleep or got  distracted by something? Was there something slippery on the road surface? Was the driver hurt? Were any passengers hurt? Were any pedestrians or other road users hurt? Were there any witnesses?
