Dulwich Ironing Service - Highly Recommended

What I love most about this forum is the fact that I have found some truly excellent recommendations for local services and this time is no exception.

We've been paying our cleaner to iron our shirts but have decided our money would be better spent if she took longer to clean the house!

I found a recommendation for Dulwich Ironing on a recent thread and decided to give them a go.

They charge 85p for shirts and trousers (less for other items) and offer bulk discounts too. They also pick up and drop off free of charge and each shirt is wrapped and on a hanger.

The lady I've spoken to at the company is very helpful and friendly and the delivery driver is also incredibly polite and courteous.

All in all an excellent and very well priced service that we will be using again very soon.

So if you loathe ironing... or like me you just simply don't have enough hours in the day and would rather spend time cooking or with family/friends then I'd recommend you give them a call!

Just wanted to bump this message back up because we were yet again impressed with Dulwich Ironing Service... we had our shirts and trousers collected on Friday and weren't expecting them to be back until Monday... but they were ready by Saturday!

Good quality ironing for a very low price provided by very helpful and friendly people :-)

I strongly agree with the above comments. I received a very unique & attractive leaflet through the door from Dulwich Ironing last week. I gave them a call on Wednesday as I had that daunting pile of shirts, trousers, bedding and not to mention kiddies clothes, they picked it up in a huge laundry bag that evening when I got back from work. I wasn't expecting it until the weekend, but surprisingly it was ready for return Friday evening, all nicely wrapped and individually hung! 100% impressed!!

I sure will be giving them a call again very soon! Fantastic quality ironing, great price & friendly people!!

yes, they really seem only too happy to help :-)

when we were going away in August I asked if we could have our ironing done in a day so that we wouldn't have to faff around when we got back and the lovely lady (I think her name is Maiza?) did the lot for us and had it back to us the next evening, she even delivered it herself!

Hi,

I've been using Dulwich Ironing for a about 6 months now.

I got to say I am always satisfied by their service. The ironing always comes back in a professional and perfect condition.

They run a 48hr turn over service but on many occassions I have had calls to say my ironing is ready a day early, which I think is incredible.

They are definitely by far the best ironing service I have used in the 10 years of being in Dulwich.

Anyone looking for great quality ironing then my recommendation is Dulwich Ironing.

Saw this thread and just thought iv got to say something about Dulwich Ironing who me and my flat mates have been using every week for a long time now. They offer discounts the more items you have which is perfect since i share a house with 5 other people.

We all group our clothes together, the delivery drivers pickup and then deliver them back fast all wrapped and hanged and they all get done for a really cheap price by far the cheapest iv seen so far and they really are very good at what they do as im sure hundreds of people in Dulwich would agree, we split the bill between us and its been working out great! being a university student i don't think id have the time or energy to do my own ironing every week!

I was having a moan to a friend about the weekly pile of ironing that just never gets done. She mentioned she's been using Dulwich Ironing for a while on a weekly basis. I gave them a go and was pleasantly surprised by their immaculate ironing! Now i don't have to worry about the ironing, it gets done for me. they are flexible with their times which is a big help with work.

Highly impressed & will recommend to all who just don't have the time and energy for ironing. Not to mention the cheap prices.

Thanks to my lovely midwife who recommended Dulwich Ironing to me after it became too much for me to do whilst being pregnant. Judging by all the feedback on here im not the only one who thinks they're amazing. Definitely the best ironing service around with affordable prices and nice delivery drivers. Its nice that i can send a text to arrange my collections and will always get a text to let me know my delivery times. So convenient!!

Just had to bump this up, Dulwich Ironing is now providing Dry cleaning along side its Wash and Iron and Iron only services!

I was skeptical about the Dry Cleaning as the prices were so reasonable, however my suits came back in even better condition than when i send them to my usual Dry Cleaner. Now we can get our Ironing, washing and Dry cleaning done without even having to leave the house. Love the free pickup & Delivery service.

Best laundry service in the area by far!!

The best laundry service in Dulwich has now re-opened! Dulwich Ironing are now booking collections. Spread the word, iv been using them on a fortnightly basis i did switch to a few of the other service providers in the area but now that Dulwich Ironing has re-opened I will be sticking with them. They are definitely the most efficient and economical laundry service in the area. Lots of people asking if they have re-opened, well now you know!

    • Post much better this Xmas.  Sue posted about whether they send Xmas cards; how good the post is,  is relevant.  Think I will continue to stay off Instagram!
    • These have reduced over the years, are "perfect" lives Round Robins being replaced by "perfect" lives Instagram posts where we see all year round how people portray their perfect lives ?    The point of this thread is that for the last few years, due to issues at the mail offices, we had delays to post over Christmas. Not really been flagged as an issue this year but I am still betting on the odd card, posted well before Christmas, arriving late January.
    • Two subjects here.  Xmas cards,  We receive and send less of them.  One reason is that the cost of postage - although interestingly not as much as I thought say compared to 10 years ago (a little more than inflation).  Fun fact when inflation was double digits in the 70s cost of postage almost doubled in one year.  Postage is not a good indication of general inflation fluctuating a fair bit.  The huge rise in international postage that for a 20g Christmas card to Europe (no longer a 20g price, now have to do up to 100g), or a cheapskate 10g card to the 'States (again have to go up to the 100g price) , both around a quid in 2015, and now has more than doubled in real terms.  Cards exchanged with the US last year were arriving in the New Year.  Funnily enough they came much quicker this year.  So all my cards abroad were by email this year. The other reason we send less cards is that it was once a good opportunity to keep in touch with news.  I still personalise many cards with a news and for some a letter, and am a bit grumpy when I get a single line back,  Or worse a round robin about their perfect lives and families.  But most of us now communicate I expect primarily by WhatApp, email, FB etc.  No need for lightweight airmail envelope and paper in one.    The other subject is the mail as a whole. Privitisation appears to have done it no favours and the opening up of competition with restrictions on competing for parcel post with the new entrants.  Clearly unless you do special delivery there is a good chance that first class will not be delivered in a day as was expected in the past.   Should we have kept a public owned service subsidised by the tax payer?  You could also question how much lead on innovation was lost following the hiving off of the national telecommunications and mail network.
