Hi wise forumites. I have one afternoon off a week to spend with my 20 month old, and happily today it has coincided with gorgeous weather.

So which water play should I take him to? Distance / travel not an issue, but I'm keen to know which will be most fun for my toddler (who can be quite a cautious fellow in new surroundings, so even though I know they'll all be busy, it would be great if we can avoid hoards of much bigger kids)

Thanks in advance!

Myatts fields is the best water park - but not for a 20 month old. Brockwell is best for you: it has a sand pit as well and is more suitable for younger kids. It is also adjacent to the idyllic Walled Garden and a lake, and there a couple of cafes in Brockwell Park whereas the others don't have one - as far as I'm aware.
Thanks citizened - in the end friends were at myatts field so I went there. Will definitely give brockwell a try next time the sun's out. Kimmy1080, myatts field is in camberwell. Type Se5 9ra into google maps. Sydenham wells park is just south of Sydenham hill. Hope this helps!

Just to add depending on which afternoon you have off..

Myatts Field does have a one a o'clock club right next the to the children's playground- it's open on Monday's Tuesday's and Friday afternoon's (i think!!- it's been cut back so only three afternoons!)

Myatts fields park cafe is open on Thursdays, Friday's, Saturdays and Sundays.

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
