1. New EU legislation means that the power of vacuum cleaners has been reduced to save energy so that vacuum cleaners with powerful suction will no longer be available. The new, less powerful cleaners will not clean so effectively.

2. Partially due to the above, Dyson have ceased all development of mains powered vacuums and will in future develop only rechargeable battery types.
