Pond expert needed!

Recommended Posts

We moved house recently and now have a pond in the back garden. The water is looking really dirty and I think it needs to be completely drained, cleaned and filled with new water. There's also an electric pump attached to a running water feature which has stopped working.

If anyone has any recommendations for someone who can do this kind of work, please let me know - I've been really struggling to find anyone!

If there are any fish, frogs or newts in the pond, you must leave at least a third of the water in & top up with rain water if you have a water butt, otherwise use tap water & a water treatment. The pump has probably clogged up & needs to be disconnected from the mains & cleaned out. If that doesn?t work, feel free to get in touch

    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
    • Truly horrific. Being passive or fighting back is what many of us think about by violent theft.
    • What ridiculous waste of money
    • Lots of good primary schools within reach of there. Fairlawn, Goodrich, Ivydale and Horiman. Secondary schools you will definitely get into the Harris Academies or Sydenham Girls or Forest Hill Boys, you might just be on the boundary for the East Dulwich or North Dulwich Charter but it changes every year.
