Agree. There is too much emphasis on attack, and not enough credit is given for a good defensive performance. I wish Utd could put one in.

Stats can lie, or perhaps a better description would be mislead. If you looked at the stats for the Barca game in isolation without knowing the score, how many would've predicted such a close scoreline?

I think Celtic will do well to hold onto Wanyama...

Who will be this weeks coupon buster?

I reckon QPR, after Arsenal decide to fly to The Emmirates from their training ground, thus suffering the effects of jetlag again...

Aston Villa 2 Norwich 1

Arsenal 1 QPR 2

Reading 1 Fulham 1

Stoke 2 Sunderland 1

Wigan 3 West Ham 2

Man City 3 Swansea 1

A proper Super Sunday...

Everton 1 Liverpool 1

Newcastle 2 West Brom 1

Southampton 1 Tottenham 2

Chelsea 0 Man Utd 1

...as an aside, happy that I am there's a fair few of us on here, I'm still a bit surprised that the EDF Football Focus has more Irons regulars (EP, Maxxi, Rhinestone, 'bout now and me) than any others (Arsenal gets a bit close)...we must like it down here in bandit country :)

It's where all the nice ladies bints live...

or maybe we just have more bunny* because banging on about the footy is our substitute for winning a trophy (would explain why the last comment in the 'life outside the premiership' thread was back in May... and was about the Irons' promotion!)

*Returns to lounging outside Dagenham Heathway Shopping Centre saying "Cor!" and shaking head at the shocking repointing above the charity shop.

    • I get that bit - it's the "we all win"  bit I didn't understand if I look at world, countries I most subscribe to are the ones where taxes are raised significantly, the economy continues to thrive and the rewards lead to a fairer economic outcome - including countries where actual pension income is a lot more  https://www.almondfinancial.co.uk/pension-breakeven-index-how-does-the-uk-state-pension-compare-to-the-rest-of-europe/   but a decent social fund requires chancellor "winning"
    • Pretty sure it’s the same everywhere in Southwark in that the area around a marked cycle parking bay is geofenced - presumably to encourage riders to use the bays.
    • They are very funny at the Herne Hill Oxfam, for a charity book shop, about accepting book donations. Last time I tried to drop off a few bags the woman there was quite cross so I took them right back out, and I will not go back again. Definitely had this very same conversation on this forum before, including about the parking. That time I drove them over to a different charity bookshop in Streatham where - shock horror - they thanked me. And since then I've taken other books in smaller quantities to local charity shops.
    • I read a lady died outside block of flats on Pytchley road, article did not say how.
