My 'experiment' lasted a whole 2 weeks :)

Week 5 (11 points scored)...

I predicted two correct scores @ 17/2. If I had placed ?1 on each of the 9 games I would've made a ?10 profit in total.

I predicted 7 correct results. If I had placed ?1 on each of the 9 games I would've made ?11.50 profit in total.

Total profit ?21.50.

Week 6 (6 points scored)...

1 correct score @ 14/1 = ?4 profit, and 4 correct results returned a loss of ?3.60, so overall a profit of 40p.

Total profit after 2 weeks = ?21.90.

My average score for these two weeks was 8.5pts.

My average score for the whole 21 weeks is just under 7.5pts.

So I performed above average for those two weeks.

I haven't worked out how many correct scores I have predicted, but I reckon they are the key to whether you would make a profit or not. I think you would need to average at least 1 a week, perhaps 3 over 2 weeks, in order to make a profit...

I'd be interested to see how RD has done against the original* over the season so far.

Was insurance needed? ID? Who checked it? What was the situation if somebody was injured while working in your house or garden? What if someone broke or stole something? What if someone in your house was molested or attacked? What if you weren't happy with the standard of work? Sorry to be gloomy, but whilst this sounds a great idea in theory, in common with many people I know I've had several  bad experiences with supposedly professional tradespeople, let alone someone who wasn't doing it for a living.
