Labour costs before / after Brexit

We want to redo our kitchen at some point but I don?t want to ge caught out by what may or may happen to the cost of building work before / after Brexit. With respect to labour costs do you think uncertainty will result in cheaper labour before April of next year, or more expensive? And do you think it?s better to lock in cheaper supply costs now rather than when there could be tariffs slapped on them after next April?

Tariffs won't affect labour, but may affect materials costs if amything used is being imported. An end to freedom of movement is the thing that is most likely to affect labour costs.

It's unlikely to make any material difference.

We'll be agreeing deals with the Sub continent or South America to bring in cleaners, pickers, factory workers and health and care workers, so I expect we'll get cut-price labour for construction too.
