Car rentals for new drivers?

I recently passed my driving test with one minor driving fault.

Would like to drive now and again with a rental rather than buying a car.

But I can't seem to find any rentals which hire to new drivers that have had their license for less than 12months... and the one company I did find is based at Gatwick which is a bit of a trek away.

Anyone come across this issue before and find any rentals / peer-to-peer companies for new drivers?

Also should mention I'm over 30.

Have you tried Indigo Car Hire? They say they accept new drivers and list London City Airport as one of their pickup locations.

Indigo is the one that does car hire for new drivers from Gatwick too. Saying that, City is probably easier for me to get too - thanks!
