Hi

Im new to east dulwich...and to london. I moved here for my boyfriend and currently know about 2 people in London. As much as I love my boyfriend just seeing his face alone is driving me mad! I (was) a very sociable person where I ued to live but am finding it diificult to meet people of a similar age (27) with similar interests in the area. Any ideas/groups/events that people know of? I'm also guessing that I am not alone in this so was also wondering if any new people/old skool east dulwich people wanted to meet up one night for some drinks to get to know other people and the area. Let me know?

Keep posting and looking on this forum (if you post it they will come) particularly in the Whats On section - there are drinks, curry nights, book clubs, various sporting activities etc etc. I beieve there are also new inmates residents all the time so you will meet like minded types v soon. Good luck and welcome.

Hi Laura,

I was in a similar position when I moved here last year, didn't know a soul (although I'm a fair bit older).

But ED is a great place to land - if you look at the What's On bit you'll almost certainly find something. (I'm now a regular at Chick's book club and the Fitness in the park Saturday morning thing, which are both peopled by very lovely and welcoming ED folk. Oh, and they're both free..)

There also seem to be semi-regular Forum drinks which I've not been to but heard good reports about!

Good luck,

Helen

    • A quick assessment on having a barter scheme amongst the community. An exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    I wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum? Or perhaps  an additional aspect of the forum itself if it was easy to include? I don’t have IT knowledge to set this up unfortunate, but I do have skills that I could offer. From past experience, it would probably work best as a direct exchange rather than coupon credit.    I may be flaunting the rules by posting on this twice, admin please feel free to delete one if this is the case.
