Jules-and-Boo
a "domestic"? Well that's alright then - what happens behind closed doors never hurts anyone, right? Fwomble
I anticipated such a response! Lying awake lIstening to the 2 people shouting for hours I did not feel it got to the point where external intervention would do them more good than harm. Quia Differt
Lesson Number 1 for me why I will always be reluctant to intervene if it is just shouting and complaining verbally.3 years ago a Female friend rang, tearfully, and told me that she had finally had enough of her alcoholic and drug - taking b/f who frittered away his weekly cash. He was abusive verbally, yet again, to her and seemed to threaten physical violence and through het tears she told me she had packed his bags and they were outside to be collected when he sobered up. This conversation continued for 35 minutes and after offering as much sympathy and undertanding I wished her a good sleep and try not to worry and I am here etc and will contact her tomorrow. She whispered her thanks. The following morning I rang. ME: " Hi X How are you " ? MS X : " I'm fine, WHY" ? ME: " It's just that after yesterday etc " " MS X: " we're sorted THANK YOU" with an irritated tone as if to say " What's YOUR problem " ?As Derek and Clive would say " At which point I left the situation " and made a mental note not to get tooooo involved again.
