I also recommend Keith Burgess for general building work. He has done some air bricks in my cellar and has done the work very neatly and with care. He also inspected the timber work under my floor and given me advice abut pipe lagging etc (not an easy inspection as there is very little headroom in most of the area.) I would also say that his price is extremely competitive.

I wanted to recommend Keith Burgess who's recently done some repointing and brickwork repairs for me. It was a very reasonable price, Keith worked quickly and was very tidy. He even came back a few days later to apply a water-repellent seal to a particularly porous area of the wall at no additional cost. Keith has a load of other recommendations on the forum, which is where I got his details. His number is: 07973 635035.

Happened to find Keith finishing a job on my street - asked him for a quote and he came in, excellent value quotes and kept in touch for start date. 2 days. 2 jobs complete (fixing a long broken gutter, pipe placement and sealing brickwork) He showed me the why, what and how along the way. He?s a great guy and genuinely did a great job with his son in support.

If you need pointing, brickwork, gutter repairs etc get him on 07973 635 035 or DM me if want photos

Another recommendation for Keith, just the nicest and most reliable person. He fixed our bay window sill, explaining the process beforehand and at a very reasonable cost. He even managed to avoid standing on the bulbs that had just started growing in our front garden and added in some repointing free of charge.

Keith has recently done a great job on repointing and refacing some of our brickwork at the front of our house. He was punctual and reliable, keeping us informed about when he was going to start. Did a neat and professional job, always clearing up at the end of the day. We will definitely use him in the future if the need arises

I contacted Keith regarding some brick work required on the exterior of our property. He was super helpful and went round to have a proper look and provided a very thorough and reasonable quote for the work to be done. Communication was excellent, Keith kept me informed as to his approach, the timing and sent photos of progress - really important as I don’t live locally anymore. We were impressed with the finished project and will certainly be using Keith again. Totally recommend!!

I recently had Keith Burgess 07973 635035 do some pointing at my house. Can highly recommend Keith, he does work to a very high standard is a great communicator is very pleasant to deal with and even spotted a problem on our flat roof which has saved the day (and potentially a lot of money).

We also highly recommend Keith Burgess and his son Charlie for all brickwork and pointing issues!

Keith and Charlie are friendly, reliable and honest guys who are masters of their trade.

They rebuilt our chimney stack and parapet wall that were leaning when we moved in - and completely fixed a fracture in the brick work at the front of the house.

The attention to detail, down to sourcing the right colour replacement bricks and matching the original mortal colour, meant that the new straight chimney stack and brick work blended in seamlessly with the rest of the house.

Keith and Charlie are very reasonably priced, and keep you informed all the way through the works with regular chats and daily picture updates.

We need more brickwork and pointing doing next year (classic Victorian house!) and honestly wouldn't choose anyone else over Keith and Charlie!

Keith's number is 07973 635035

    • Doubt you would have got much change out of £150.00 for battery and certainly having forked out for it, best to use your car. I recently sold  my car via webuyanycar.com - very pleasant experience & was roughly what I was expecting. Pop your bangers reg jnto their website to get an idea of price - they do send e mails once a fortnight/month just as an aid for you. Easy enough to delete - don’t even have to read valuation. They literally buy any car - if you can’t get it to them, they will charge you to get it there or recommend a co that will do it for you. Must say, mine was a 2014 reg and whilst a bit suspicious, paid extra to get money into my account as needed it for next car but was assured funds had I not gone down route I took would be in my account within 5 days. I now live in the country - every time I have been back to Dulwich and surrounding area, normally get a fine for driving at wrong time or parking at  wrong time so if I drive now, park in West or East Dulwich and do everything else by public transport and walking.  Were I still to be living in ED then before I left was pondering this very issue but since I have been back regularly for health reason I no longer drive but take the train and then buses, walk or Uber. Much cheaper than running a car and had I stayed, that would have been the course I would have taken. I don’t go out everyday, have an allotment or job to go to or family so in my case, would be cheaper not to have a car.  Was truely shocked   at the cost of second hand cars…..but where I now live only has a smattering of buses so no choice but to have wheels to get from A to B etc.
    • If you don't use the car often then suggest disconnect the battery between use by undoing the earth (negative / minus sign) cable from the battery and the battery will then last longer between use. Remember, central locking, alarm, clock, etc won't work with battery disconnected and wit ours I have to lock the doors with central locking before disconnecting battery as only have key on one door (leave bonnet open before locking doors). Hope this helps

    • Ahh shame about the cost of replacing the battery - especially (and I am assuming here) as the car probably isn't worth that much.  I do, however, think your decision is better than scrapping the car.  I will still update the results of our "experiment" in case this is of interest to others.  I absolutely refuse to scrap an otherwise perfectly good vehicle (especially as ours is ULEZ compliant - despite its age).  Nor am I enamoured with the idea of driving more just to keep the battery going.  If this little £35 gadget does the business then I shall be very happy.  We shall see......... Enjoy all those extra journeys, though if our gadget works then you might benefit from purchasing one and trickle-charging from time to time to save you having to make them.
