It's a puzzle how "Inspector Montalbano" manages to be very watchable while being utter rubbish (unlike "Wild Bill"). Formulaic, illogical, completely unbelievable. Yet enjoyable. And the books are obviously losing everything in their translations as they are even worse.

Rutger Hauer has passed away aged 75.

Without doubt this scene from Blade Runner is one of the most memorable in cinema history. Rutger Hauer helped to create Roy Batty?s death soliloquy.

?I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannh?user Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..."

The irony is that Rutger Hauer's unforgettable performance has trapped him in the amber of that cinematic moment. RIP.

Thank you, sorry, I couldn?t remember his name - he?s made some of my favourite music.

Malcolm Nash, sadly most famous for Gary Sobers six sixes in an over https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/49178748 but I was there when he took five wickets, with a hatrick, and then two more wickets successive wickets in a JPL match, taking five wickets for two runs. http://static.espncricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1970S/1975/ENG_LOCAL/SUNLG/WORCS_GLAM_SUNLG_07SEP1975.html A great fast bowler.

    • We worked with Eliot recently to get two sets of shelves built. He was excellent! Really high quality craftsmanship, communicative and lovely - I’d recommend Langley Carpentry in a heartbeat.
    • How about trying the upstairs of some local pubs like EDT? They prob won't stay open until wee small hours but worth a try... or night at Rivoli Ballroom Catford (too old?!) or somewhere up in town for drinks rather than hiring somewhere.
    • Sadly crime does seem to be going up in terms of opportunists and street crime / bike thefts etc. Lack of CCTV in this area means it's more of a target than some neighbouring areas according to police (when they sent victim support round after our car had its catalytic converter stolen twice in 6 months by organised gang complete with balaclavas, iron bars and a chainsaw.. driving a 4x4). Crime still relatively low by some parts of London standards but a worrying trend if burglars are trying their luck when people are actually home. Wonder what local police/ MP thoughts are in terms of whether they could organise more community policing patrols. I read a woman was punched in the face on/near Lordship Lane in an unprovoked attack a week or two ago. Terrifying.
    • We had shutters and roller blind supplied and fitted by Affordable Shutters when we first moved into our house in 2012 and highly recommend them. One of the poles and a couple of shutter staples recently came loose and they scheduled in a visit when they were in the area at no charge. Lovely customer service, great quality, honestly cannot fault their service (shutters are made to measure so you have to wait but they're worth waiting for). https://affordableshutters.co.uk/
