The Irish Shop has a shop though. Have you seen the price of Tayto?

alwaysFN seems to have gone away.

So that there is no misunderstanding here is the legal authority for the last substantive change in the ownership of Peckham Rye Common.

Note that this is not what appears in local history books.

There is a "back story" here which could be "interesting". Does anyone want to take this on as a small project?

John K

When i says 'your lot' i mean your people who make your rules, we have our own councils thanks.

as for the other bit here it is.....not that it means much, to some common lands is common lands

Officers have received the result of a local search which confirms as

anticipated that the property is part of Peckham Rye Common which is

registered as Common Land under the Commons Registration Act 1965.

Common Land is subject to ?rights of common? example rights of grazing, or

of cutting bracken, in common with other people. There is no single legal

definition of Common Land but in general it means land that is registered

under the 1965 Act or the Commons Act 2006. The 2006 Act updated the

1965 Act and provides that Common land is protected from development.

Under section 38 of the 2006 Act consent from the Secretary of State is

required to any restricted works on registered common land. Restricted works

are those which prevent or impede access to or over the land, which might

include erecting fencing, constructing buildings, digging ditches, but also

includes the resurfacing of land with tarmac and similar materials.

ha,ha,ha I like the name.

alwaysFN - do you have any details of the subsidies that "your own councils" have paid to ethnic minorities to support their festivities as I assume you'd like to offer reciprocal arrangements for the subsidies you seek from "our lot"?

Who do I apply to for such support - I'd quite like to hold an "English Festival" on the Rye with cricket, warm beer, knotted handkerchief hats and morris dancing. I think about ?50,000 should do it.

Could you please provide the link to the specific document that you want to refer to or are possibly quoting from. This one is insufficient.

Sadly your application for an 'English Festival' would be turned down as your romantic view of what defines Englishness is to anyone with their eyes open a long forgotten myth. 'Your lot' have done a good job of ensuring that over the years. I think your John Major was the last one who quoted that romantic fantasy of a merry England, and whilst he was bedding up with the bird with the sour eggs. Now if 'our lot' had an historical re-enactment fund then you may have some success, but we don't.

Culture is the bedrock of our community, camera cars seem to be the rock of yours., dont blame us.

As a side note, The Irish government through the Emigrant Support Programme have since 2004 allocated over ?65m in support of Irish communities in Britain.

So the traveller gatherings will continue as they were, pre the 'Irish festival', and if that takes place on common land then so be it.

alwaysFN - are you a militant gypsy who wants funding from the society that he abuses and doesn't contribute to, or a militant Irishman who wants funding from the society that he abuses and doesn't contribute to?

I wasn't aware tha gypsy/Irish was interchangeable?

alwaysFN, are you working for or speaking on behalf of any organisations that have received or are applying for a grant under this programme?

"My Country's culture > your Country's culture."

The point of this comment was highlighting that blatant dismissal of another peoples' culture is just plain ignorant.

The comment made by OP about car cameras (or whatever it was) being the measure of a country's culture is just plain ridiculous.

Give the vitriol and apparent hatred against what seems to be England/the English, the obvious question seems to be what in God's name are you doing here if it's all that bad (assuming the OP is in fact here in this culture-barren hell) ?

    • Hi, oglander , Congratulations on your soon-to-arrive little lion - how exciting! It's always lovely to hear someone taking the adoption route (shelters are having a major crisis at the moment!). I've been in business for 15 years & can say with certainty that most cat owners in Dulwich have catflaps so, not only are they easy to have installed, but you shouldn't find yourself short of helping hands on these local forums. A catflap is a brilliant way to keep your little lion safely in overnight as well as generally keeping track of their comings & goings. I'd be happy to walk you through the set up once you've chosen your model (SureFlap & PetSafe are two popular brands). I'm sure the rescue has already advised, but just in case they haven't, it'll be very important to keep your newly adopted cat housebound for the first 2 weeks to familiarise themselves with their new home. Once they've scent-mapped the house, you can gradually begin letting them out to explore & scent-map the garden. Exciting times! x
    • Hello all,  If your child goes to this gym club: since the new payment system, have you received clear information about the cost per session, the cost per term and when sessions will be omitted eg for school opened days? (I have asked the club, more than once, no full response so far) This term started in late August, before school had gone back (did many attend that session?). Next term there is no break for half term, so there are 12 sessions to be paid. Does that seem to be more sessions than there used to be?    I am sure they are doing their best, but the info from the new auto pay system isn’t detailed enough, and the auto pay just takes an unspecified amount. I wondered if it’s just me (wanting more detail), or if there are others too? (my child loves the gym itself!) thanks
    • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent service! We had one of Paul Edgley’ s team come to fit some new lights in our living room. They were able to come at reasonably short notice, arrived on time, were friendly and professional, and did a great job. Everything was left clean and tidy afterwards, and the lights look fantastic. Highly recommend! Paul’s contact details are 07802 627967
