Finding decent tradesmen

I recently discovered that the brilliant Which Local? has been shut down and been replaced by the much inferior Which Trusted Traders.

Which Local? was fantastic because it was funded by Which? subscribers so it mitigated the chance of fake reviews and there was no incentive for Which? to advertise terrible tradesmen. All the local tradesmen I found on Local were brilliant. Conversely I can see that on Which Trusted Traders there are tradesmen with great ratings whom I know from experience to be terrible.

Which Trusted Traders is just like Checkatrade, rated people and all those other questionable websites: funded by the tradesmen themselves, which presents an obvious conflict of interest.

Does anyone know of a website similar to Which Local? Or would anyone be interested in helping set one up?

  Commercial aren't allowed to use it at all. That's why you have to prove you're a resident disposing of residential waste. The kind of commercial operations that try to get rid of waste on the cheap don't show up at the tip, they dump it on the streets. Do Veolia run the bulky waste service too?

  Lol as if it will make any difference round here Sunbob. For what is worth I don't think Helen Hayes has been very good as a constituency MP at all. She hasn't really achieved anything for us. Her biggest campaign has been about postal deliveries and they still get worse.
