Junior Open Mic

Recommended Posts

I'd like parents to know there are Junior Open Mic events at Off The Cuff in Herne Hill. The next one is 1st July 2-4.30pm. It's organised by volunteer parents and designed to encourage performance 'beyond the living room'. You get a proper sound engineer, lots of mics, a performers assistant, a friendly, parental audience, a certificate and a free drink. On hand is a keyboard and full 70's drum kit.

So far we've heard singers, poets, beatboxers, recorder players, ukulists, guitarists, trumpeteers, joke tellers, pianists, drummers and many, many first time performances ? all aged between 4 and 14. Pre-register by contacting me or just turn up and see how it goes, there's no pressure to perform if your child isn't sure.

Contact me directly if you'd like more info.

    • The 185 is often the same. But that's why buses sometimes (and annoyingly) stop to "regulate the service". To be fair, it's often due to traffic conditions. If there is not much traffic, the one behind catches up with the one in front.
    • I imagine this is because of the average  additional time involved, due to the styles. You could have asked the reason? I will ask, next time I'm in there.  Many salons have this differential pricing.
    • Maybe a humidifier, or bowl of water near her bed might help. Sometimes dry air can cause a sore throat
    • Daughter needs surgery very soon but is getting sore throat in mornings I’m wondering if an air purifier might work… anyone recommends any? Wondering if I could borrow or buy one cheaply somewhere?
