Luke Jackson + Anne-Marie Sanderson + Les Elvin: The Goose Is Out! Friday 29 June, 7pm. The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, Nunhead, SE15 3BE. Tickets here https://www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout

Luke is a Singer-Songwriter from Canterbury, Kent. 2017 was another busy year with Kansas Folk Alliance in the USA, double-header tours with Amy Wadge and then Rebecca Loebe plus the usual Solo, Duo and Trio shows all over the UK and Europe. 2018 has started well with the release of Luke?s first live album to great reviews and is shaping up to be another busy year. It's been a while since we welcomed Luke Jackson to the Goose, so we are delighted that he is able to come back tonight.

We still remember walking into an absolutely rammed room at Rochester Sweeps festival some years back to see this very young (as he was then ? he started publicly performing at thirteen!) singer and guitarist holding the whole room absolutely spellbound. We have been following his career with great interest since then!

We came across Anne?Marie Sanderson only very recently, when she approached us for a gig, and we really liked her voice and her songs

?Her voice is evocative of birds in flight ? soaring, gliding, swooping ? and it finds its home among the tall trees of her deft guitar work. Describing Sanderson?s distinctive indie-folk music in these terms is apt; she is an artist who casts a careful eye and attentive ear to the natural environment, alternating between wide-eyed wonder and wry observation.

As well as drawing from a host of musical influences, some of Sanderson?s songs pay homage to literary greats, and she is currently recording a collection of songs inspired by authors including Robert Macfarlane, Barbara Kingsolver, and Doris Lessing.

With two EPs already released into the wild, ?Book Songs Vol. 1? is due early in 2018, followed by a UK tour.?

Coincidentally, another connection from Rochester Sweeps Festival, and this is Les Elvin!

Les plays guitar and harmonica. His material covers a wide range of styles from across the British Isles and reflects Americana influences. It also includes Celtic and dance instrumentals. We think he?s great, and we hope you will too!
