Just as the thread title says really!

I would like to buy a second hand tripp trapp (no luck so far please let me know if you have one to sell!) and am wondering if I end up having to get all the different parts separately on ebay or something, if all the bits are useable on both the old style and new style chair - I see the design changed slightly at some point.

So can you interchange the old leather strap babyset and the new plastic one on both old and new style highchair?

And can you interchange the old style cushion sets with the new style cushion sets on both old and new style highchair?

I don't want to buy all the bits and realise they won't work together cos they're a mix of old and new if you see what I mean!

Advice from tripp trapp veterans greatly appreciated

Edited to say, not being lazy, I would ring customer services but for Great Britain customer services is based in Germany so asking the forum before resorting to phoning abroad!

Hey

I have a weird combo of bits and it works fine. The only thing I think you have to be wary of is the much older chairs that have a high rounded back, they have their own cushions but you prob wouldnt be able to get those now anyway. I have the standard tripp trapp chair plus a plastic babyset back with a wooden bar that slots into the frame of the chair rather than attaches to the plastic seat back, if that makes sense. I think all bits should work fine but I am also new to the tripp trapp market so perhaps someone more qualified can help!

Jenny

that makes sense Jenny as actually the plastic back is on the old chair as well... (yours looks the same as mine & mine is an 'Old style') so the only 'new' bit is the front plastic bit and if your chair fits both the plastic bit and the wooden bar and leather strap combo then in theory yes.... the attachments must still be the same...

Plus you might get a 2nd hand 'new' style a la Jenny...

I've got a new chair and old style baby set with plastic back and leather strap, fits fine.

I bought the chair new around a year ago however wasn't keen on the new plastic baby set, harder to get baby in and out chair.

One item I would recommend is the sliders, You can buy them separately and they do work.

I used the old baby set with a new tripp trapp chair, but the back leg plastic safety extenders are not transferable.

Maybe they sell them now, but six months ago I could not buy them individually without buying a new baby set. I emailed tripp trapp to complain and they sent me them free of charge.

    • Gosh, that all sounds so familiar!  Southwark are constantly holding up their Outdoor Events Policy as proof of process, but then constantly allow exceptions when things aren't quite done correctly. Point in case, Gala's licence application - extract from the Consultation Findings Report - "The GALA team formally submitted their application to hold GALA 2025 to the council on the 7 October 2024. It is usually a requirement that applications for larger scale events are submitted with a minimum of 9 months to process them, but discretion can be applied if there are mitigating circumstances. 8.4 of the Outdoor Events Policy clarifies that processing applications received outside the stated lead-in times is at the Council's discretion. In this case: • The council were aware that Assembled Gala were preparing an application for the event to take place in 2025 in advance of their submission date, with operational discussions already taking place • GALA festival has been taking place in Peckham Rye Park since 2018 – less time is needed regarding event planning than if it were a new event • The GALA team already have a Premises Licence in place for this event (this is a pre- requisite for the Event Licence to be issued), so no time needed to be factored in for a premises licence application and decision-making process" So despite the fact that there would need to be major planning decisions due to the change of site access, they didn't think Gala needed to adhere to the same rules as everyone else? Makes me wonder what other rules they are exempted from... On a similar note, has anyone received a Resident Communication letter, containing the contact details for issues?
