My kitten was last seen on IVANHOE ROAD (where we live) yestreday morning on the junction of AVONDALE RISE.

He is called 'Ron' and is black with a white mouth and chest and stomach.

I am hoping he is being looked after by a neighbour.

Please give me a call on 0777 911 0745 if you have any news.

We had about five phone calls in response to the posters we put up but no positive sightings or at least not since he went missing. We've been out looking for him so many times during the day and night and in all weathers that if he was still near the house I think we would have seen or heard him. I'm also sure if he had been killed on the street we would have known so I can only imagine someone is keeping him, I guess we'll never know?

Strangely, we did get a call from a neighbour on Sunday night in response to the poster because they had found a tiny four week old kitten, soaked on our street. It wasn't Ron, but very cute all the same. We kept him over night and then handed him over to a cat charity as he needed proper care. There seems to be a lot of weird kitten & cat action going on around these streets.

Anyway, thanks so much for taking an interest.

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
