Builder recommendation

I just wanted to recommend Gintaras of lightbuild.co.uk (07427566558). We returned from holiday to find our top floor ceilings had collapsed following major roof leak causing extensive damage - we contacted Gintaras who replaced the ceilings and arranged for re-plastering and redecorating/ sanding and painting of damaged floorboards.

Gintaras' communication was excellent - he sent us regular pictures and updates on progress and he communicated with insurers for us. He was very considerate at a difficult time when we were living amongst building works with our small baby! He has a great attention to detail and completed the job promptly to a very high standard - we could not be happier with the end result and would not hesitate to use Gintaras again.

We absolutely agree, Gintaras, Aivaras, Marius and lightbuild.co.uk are fantastic. They have just reroofed and rebuilt our 30 year old kitchen and extension. They were sensitive and thoughtful about our family who lived in the house during building work and our neighbours. They worked incredibly hard and long hours. They are craftsmen and perfectionists but they also called in excellent people to do any elements which were beyond their expertise. They were brilliant at understanding what we wanted and helping us to source materials. They finished the job quickly. We recommend them wholeheartedly and love our beautiful new kitchen and living space.

    • I don't really understand the question in this context? I mean, yes, most of us are motivated by a degree of self interest but Rockets is not standing for election as a local councillor( is he?), nor did he stand for leadership of the Council, so in that sense does not have the power or influence to significantly affect thousands of voter lives.
    • @Sue of course it matters - 100% it matters. He was an elected official who asked the electorate to entrust the running of a local ward to him as a Labour councillor, under Labour's mandate. He also held a senior position within the Labour local leadership team. Suddenly he leaves and jumps to a political rival and gives his previous political party both barrels. This is why many people distrust all politicians and things like this just goes to confirm that.
    • We may never know, but does it actually matter?
    • Ha ha, @ianr maybe I am more sceptical towards politicians than others as my dad insisted I watched Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister and read Private Eye in my younger years! It opened my eyes to politicians and how they will flip flop to suit their own personal goals! One does wonder if Cllr McAsh would have made the same "principled" jump to the Greens if he had not had his Labour career knee-capped by Labour HQ over the leadership of the council.....
