Astonished that anyone thinks they enhance a landscape. Really?? They are starkly beautiful in themselves, but entirely dominate any countryside they appear on and swamp the view. I'd call them a necessary evil.

I happened to be passing the Drax power station the other day and thought of this thread. That area of Yorkshire is dominated by windmill farms or the station. I agree with Moos, the odd one is graceful and beautiful, but farms of them wreck landscapes as badly as pylons. Speaking of which why has it taken this long before someone had the idea to hold a competition to design a better looking pylon?
