Positive recommendation for movers: VP Removals

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, I've found all my services through EDF suggestions. I wanted to highlight one as it is buried within the forum and I only happened to come across it in the nick of time! I was looking for movers to help shift contents between South London flats and up many, many stairs. Received five quotes and the best was from VP Removals - who I found through here.

Vitek and Peter arrived on time in a small truck (not a transit van), assessed all the stuff and proceeded to move it. They were very helpful and friendly. I'd definitely use them again! No stair premium, no Sunday evening premium - fab! They even helped me move some furniture already in the room.

I wish to add to this as well - I also found VP Removals here on the Forum. Vitek and Peter were absolutely amazing on the day, doing so much and packing the Luton Van amazingly efficiently. During the quote Vitek provided lots of advice of how to optimise the packing and safety. The examples of how to properly pack plates was so helpful and made the move on the day worryy free. Absolute care was taken with all of our furniture and stuff which was covered with protective blankets and strapping down so they didn't move during the driving.

The price is unbeatable, especially for their expertise and professionalism and outright hard work on the day. We also weren't charged extra for picking up from two properties either, which we found other firms did. I would 100% recommend VP Removals and wouldn't even question who I'd call if I needed to move house again.

I can't recommend these guys enough. They did a removal job for me at the weekend and were impeccable. Arrived exactly on time, were incredibly personable and polite, delicate and deft and didn't make a single mark on the walls. They were also unbeatable value for money.

They packed their van with great thought and detail and made light work of what I thought was going to be an arduous and long day.

Also lovely to chat to.

We just moved and contacted VP removals based on forum recommendations- we weren?t disappointed, the guys were great. Keep us informed on their arrival, turned up on time, efficient and speedy. Very reasonable prices too. We will be using them when we move back into our house after the renovations

    • I know I'm a bit premature but don't want to forget through too much Chrisntas cheer! Southwark Council Christmas trees recycling arrangements 2025 - bit worrying for the future that they're emphasising the free bit. "We’ll collect and recycle your real Christmas tree for free!  Trees should not be taller than 5ft. You should chop any taller trees into smaller pieces. Remove all decorations and the pot or stand and recycle it by: putting your tree with your garden waste containers on collection day requesting a free collection if you do not have a garden waste collection  taking it to our Reuse and Recycling Centre [43 Devon Street, SE15 1AL open 08:30-16:30 Mon-Sun] If you live in a flat you must leave the tree: outside on the kerb visible for the collection crew not in a bin store" I'll add the link to the collection booking service when it opens on 22 December.
    • Most homes in East Dulwich / Good Green ward have collections on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. So no changes for them this year.  But for those few local homes with collections normally on Thursdays or Friday, with Christmas, Boxing day happening on Thursday and Friday any blue, brown or green bin collections will be delayed by two days. So Thursday 25 December collections will be on Saturday 27 December and Friday 26 December collections on Sunday 28 December. For New Years day those Thursday collections will be on the Friday 2 January and those with normal collections of Fridays that will be on Saturday 3 January. To double check when your Southwark Council rubbish, recycling, food waste, garden waste collections will be taking place please please check here - https://services.southwark.gov.uk/bins/lookup
    • Luckily I don't really any regular reason to park at Dawson Heights.  It must be very difficult for the residents I do feel for them.  Thank you for them.  I just presumed that Southwark owned the estate and would be responsible for parking enforcement there.
