  1. I agree! I have seen quite a few people with full face helment in in and about london and when I asked them why they gave pretty much the same answer as above. Anyway, Sorry for the diversion off topic!
  2. @rendel All good points and taken on board; I do indeed wear a helmet. I just get tired of the high jacking of practically every thread to do with cycling with the old "you lot all jump red lights and don't wear helmets etc" and the hissing you hear from members of the public chastising people they don't know for something that doesn't affect them. FWIW I don't think motor bike helmets are rubbish because they are fundamentally and structurally different to a bicycle helmet that offer considerable more protection than the small bit of foam on the top of my head. Perhaps I should get a full face helmet - but then my peripheral vision may be impaired?
  3. The whole helmet wearing thing is rubbish anyway. One of the most common form of injuries in a car accident is head injuries, which can easily be prevented wearing a helmet. Do you wear one though? Do the general public get all high-horsey and preach to people they don't even know who are not wearing them? No. Same can be said for walking down the street. If you make it up to the most vulnerable to protect themselves then we'd all be wrapped in bubble wrap.
  4. what sort of artists do you have? I may be interested in a few :)
  5. Loads of small businesses do it: Brick Brewery did and that's now manifested in the new tap room and improved facilities there. It's a way for a community to invest directly into local businesses they feel deserve it and cut out banks and what not, which can only be a good thing if properly managed.
  6. VP removals are highly recommended on the forum. We used them and I would happily use them again. We had two pick ups as well and no extra charge.

    Men in shorts

A couple of the partners at the law firm I work at have been rocking up in shorts recently. Looks weird with suit shirt tucked in but I am envious that they are much more comfortable that trousers in this heat!
  8. I wish to add to this as well - I also found VP Removals here on the Forum. Vitek and Peter were absolutely amazing on the day, doing so much and packing the Luton Van amazingly efficiently. During the quote Vitek provided lots of advice of how to optimise the packing and safety. The examples of how to properly pack plates was so helpful and made the move on the day worryy free. Absolute care was taken with all of our furniture and stuff which was covered with protective blankets and strapping down so they didn't move during the driving. The price is unbeatable, especially for their expertise and professionalism and outright hard work on the day. We also weren't charged extra for picking up from two properties either, which we found other firms did. I would 100% recommend VP Removals and wouldn't even question who I'd call if I needed to move house again.

  10. >So it's really 35% above the speed limit before they do anything. That's ridiculous. What is the point of a 20mph speed limit if it's actually 27mph where you start to receive a warning letter? The fact it's not a fine and points is ludicrous. Also, why would TFL get a say if there are speed cameras installed just because buses go down it? One rule for cars one for buses (genuine question)?
  11. pretty sure you can get tempeh in the chilled section (not frozen) of Organic Village Market near the East Dulwich Tavern; also holland and barrat on rye lane.

Tempeh is so good, and absorbs flavors very well. My personal favorite is to marinate in soy sauce and use as a sort of 'meat' on bbq skewers.

Where does this > leave everyone at risk of contamination? I was going to report some knotweed we had in our garden on behalf of my landlord and mentioned it to my neighbor who was horrified and begged me not to contact the council...He said that if you report knotweed to the council it makes the surrounding properties worth less in value due to having to disclose it when you sell, which I believe he is planning to do. In the end we worked on it ourselves and got rid of it. Not sure if that's a bit of an old wives tale though!
