Am quite serious. Coffins could be buried vertically (feet first) with just as much dignity and ease as lengthwise and it would save space.Many years ago when in Switzerland we noticed that the length of the graves was very very short. We attempted to discretely enquire why without success. My gran suggested that only explanation she could make sense of was vertcal insertion of the coffin and it made a lot of sense to me.
